Features
- One photo is enough——No scanner, no editing skills. A phone snapshot of a faded print — even a single black-and-white portrait — is enough to start.
- Restore, then animate——Scratches removed, blur sharpened, black-and-white colorized — then the smile. The step other tools make you do elsewhere happens here automatically.
- Faces stay true——Features, face shape and hairstyle are matched strictly to the original. Only expressions move, identity never drifts.
- Subtle motion only——Silent micro-motion only: soft smile, slow blink, gentle nod. Restrained and dignified — a memorial, never a prank.
How it works
- Upload the old snapshot Snap the print with your phone and upload it. Yellowed, scratched or blurry is fine — black-and-white works too.
- Pick smile and restore Gentle smile plus restore-and-colorize is preselected. Prefer the aged look? Keep the original grain instead.
- Get the 5-second video A silent 5-second video in under a minute: she smiles gently while everything else stays frozen in time.
FAQ
- Can one old black-and-white photo work?
- Yes. This tool is designed for exactly that: one single portrait works best. A straight-on portrait with a large, unobstructed face gives the most stable result — glasses, side profiles or tiny distant faces are more likely to warp.
- Will the animation look fake?
- Realism comes from two things: restore first, then move less. We clean blur and scratches and fix the lighting before animating, and only move the eyes and mouth corners — a slow smile, one blink. Big grins and head turns are what make fakes obvious, so we never do them.
- Single or group photo — which is better?
- A single portrait is the most reliable; group photos succeed less often. If the whole family photo matters, try it as-is — but for the steadiest result, crop the person you miss most and animate them solo first.
- Do I need to restore it first?
- No extra step needed. The default flow restores, colorizes and animates in one pass. Only choose “keep original look” if you want the yellowing, grain and black-and-white tone preserved for a documentary feel.
- Is old photo animation free?
- You can try it free: sign in, upload one photo and generate. Higher definition and watermark-free exports use credits; the preview lets you check the likeness before you spend anything.
- Will my photo be misused?
- Your photo is only used to generate your video and is never shared or reused. For photos of late loved ones we recommend keeping the finished video within the family.
- Can the person in the photo speak?
- No — this tool only makes silent micro-motion: smiling, blinking, nodding. No lip-sync and no voice. If you want the person to speak, that is a different talking-photo need.
