Features
- 3–5 Ranked Candidates——No vague mega-topics. Every candidate ships with a standard title, background, core question, novelty, feasibility, risks and a final ranked shortlist.
- Feasibility, Item by Item——Where the data comes from, whether the methods fit, whether the timeline works — each feasibility claim is spelled out against your constraints.
- Real References Only——Trend claims and citations are verified against live search. Checkable sources only — never fabricated references.
- Proposal Brief in .docx——Field overview, ranked candidates, reading list and advisor-discussion outline — generated as an editable Word brief.
- Broad Topics Narrowed——Object plus setting plus question, every time. Topics arrive at a granularity you can actually collect data for.
- Direction in Minutes——One sentence about your major and interests is enough to start. No registration wall before your first topics.
How it works
- Upload Your Requirements Paste in your course requirements or syllabus — the agent reads every file and narrows topics accordingly. Nothing to upload? Just describe your situation in words.
- Say Your Field and Interests Name your major, level and the direction you care about, then pick your angle — trending, gaps, interdisciplinary or safe — and how deep the output should go.
- Get Five Writable Topics Get five safe, writable topics, each with one line on why it works and where the sources are — like the undergrad case above.
FAQ
- Is this academic topic selector free to use?
- Yes. Describe your major and interests on this page and generate topics right away — no sign-up wall, no trial-count games. (Billing, if any, is handled uniformly by Loomi; the page itself never locks you out.)
- What if my topic is too broad?
- That is exactly what the tool is built to fix. Every topic is forced down to object plus setting plus one question — for example 'bedtime short-video use (object) among dorm students (setting) and sleep quality (question)'. If a topic cannot be narrowed, the report tells you which constraint is missing instead of handing you a vague mega-topic.
- Are the references real or made up?
- They are verified, not invented. The agent checks every trend claim and every cited paper against live web search and only cites checkable sources. Where direct evidence is missing, the report says so and suggests a round of literature search — fabricating citations is a red line.
- Can I use it with only a major and no clear idea?
- Yes. A major plus a fuzzy interest is the most common starting point. Type what you have, pick your level and angle, and the agent will ask for the two or three constraints it still needs — or try a one-click preset below the input box.
- Thesis topic generator or research paper tool?
- Both — this page is the research topic generator for the whole family: course papers, graduation theses and research proposals. A dedicated thesis topic generator page is linked below for thesis-specific needs, and the two pages link to each other.
- How to choose a research topic my advisor will accept?
- Bring the report, not just the titles. Each candidate carries its novelty, feasibility and risk analysis, and the full-proposal depth adds a reading list plus an advisor-discussion outline — exactly the material advisors use to say yes. If a direction still gets rejected, regenerate with the feedback pasted in.
